Crossed half a century and stepping towards Diamond Jubilee Celebration, the West Bengal Veterinary Association is a dream of all the veterinarians engaged in Govt. Service in the State of West Bengal and the largest Organization of Veterinary Doctors, an affiliate of Indian Veterinary Association, New Delhi. Our members are all Group –‘A’ officers serving in the Cadre of West Bengal Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service and West Bengal Higher Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service, in the Animal Resources Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Starting from a base level officer engaged in Additional Block Animal Health Centre up to the Highest Policy Maker in the state i.e. Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service are a bonafied part of our organization...


With an experience of different turbulent situation in the administration the Association made its own road towards a well turned success to the solution of different problems of the Veterinarians as well as for the profession. The establishment of second Veterinary University in India, Awarding of State Service at the entry level and Non Practicing Pay equivalent to Medicos are some of the bright feathers to its cap.


• We regularly review various aspects all the State Animal Husbandry Development Schemes and its policy and Advocate for necessary changes to the Government.


• We move to protect the rights and privileges of our members as well as to extend it for better living.

• We are concerned about the Animal Husbandry Development of this State as well as to the ‘Poverty Amelioration Programme’ in Animal Husbandry to the Rural Masses in the State of West Bengal.

• We are always committed to the goal to make a welfare society benefits of Animal Husbandry farmers, get associated with the mainstream democratic movement and organize Camps, Seminars, Popular discussion for better Animal Husbandry awareness.


• We are committed to stand by the side of veterinarians, stand by the common people.
